Privacy Policy

ShipNYap is a small build-in-public studio run by Manan and Tanisha. For anything in this policy, reach us at data@shipnyap.in.

On this website:

• Waitlist details you submit through our form (provided by Typeform), such as your email address and your answers.
• Messages you send us by email.
• Basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected in server logs and privacy-friendly analytics.

In NED:

• NED is designed to run on your device. Your conversations, profile details (like name, date of birth, city, email), memories and preferences are stored on your device and are not sent to us.
• If you choose to let NED access the internet, the requests needed to answer your query leave your device and are handled by the services involved in that request.

In Vaani:

• Voice and call audio, and the transcripts of your conversation with the assistant.
• Your phone number, the language detected, and the details of the issue you report (tickets, status, notes).
• Optional call recordings, where the deploying organisation enables them.
• For staff and operators: sign-in details from Google sign-in (name, email).

• To run, secure and improve our website and products.
• To contact you about the waitlist and product updates you asked for.
• To handle and route issues you report through Vaani, and to let operators follow up.
• To respond to your emails and requests, including data requests.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use what NED learns about you to train models.

We use trusted providers to operate our services. Depending on the product, these may include:

• Typeform (waitlist forms) and Vercel (website hosting and analytics).
• For Vaani: Sarvam AI (speech-to-text and text-to-speech), OpenAI (language model), Pinecone (knowledge search), Supabase (database), Cloudflare R2 (recording storage) and Google (staff sign-in).

These providers process data only to deliver their service to us and under their own privacy terms.

Our website does not use advertising cookies. Embedded third-party content, such as the Typeform waitlist or a YouTube video, may set its own cookies when you interact with it.

We keep data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for. Waitlist data is kept until you ask us to remove it or the product launches and the list is retired. Vaani ticket and call data are kept for the period agreed with the organisation that deploys it, or until you ask us to delete it where the law allows.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we also keep NED's data on your device by design to reduce what we ever hold.

Under applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance.

Our products are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as our products evolve. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
